Yuppies in a Tiny House

Portland professionals Lily Copenagle and Jamie Kennel had a dream of building a house to their own specifications. A common American dream, but their specifications were a little unusual. They wanted small. Their goal was to avoid the usual entanglements of homeownership -- “There’s so much more personal freedom in going smaller” said Kennel. One of Copenagle's goals was
a space that was small enough to vacuum completely in five minutes, within cord’s reach of a single outlet, so there wouldn’t have to be any unplugging and replugging of the vacuum cleaner.
They ended up with this one room, 704-square-foot place. It's cute; and what would a childless couple need with more space anyway?

.Here's a fabulous idea -- save time doing laundry but putting the washer and dryer in the clothes closet. Lots more here.
