I Want a Garden Like Ben Pentreath's

British designer Ben Pentreath splits his time between London and an old parsonage in Dorset, where he has planted the most marvelous garden.

His vegetable garden is especially lovely.

But that wattle fence -- very attractive, but about as effective as air at keeping deer out. And although he just started the garden a year or two before this picture was taken, look at that black soil. No fair. I had to start from bulldozed clay and rocks.

His flower beds are also spectacular.

Sigh. This is what I would do if I had the time, money, and freedom from large furry pests.

I love the overgrown feel the garden gets in late summer.

All these pictures are from his delightful blog.
